Terms of Travel

Legal Documents: Please be sure that your passport is valid for 6 months after your date of entry to Nicaragua, and that your passport is in good condition. If your passport will expire sooner than 6 months after your date of entry to Nicaragua, please get a new passport before traveling.

Not Included: Prices do not include air travel, country entry fee of $5 and airport departure fee of $30, airport porter tips, laundry, beverages not on the regular menu, and tips to tour director, bus driver, and guides.

2008 Cancellation Fees: A full refund will be issued to you if you cancel your tour 46 or more days prior to start of tour.

If you cancel tour between 32 and 45 days before start of tour, Explore Nicaragua Tours will make a full refund less a deductible of $95 per person. If cancellation is made between 7 to 31 days prior to departure are given a full credit towards a future tour within 12 months, minus a $195 deductible. If cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to departure are given a full credit towards a future tour within 12 months, minus a $250 deductible.

Responsibility: Explore Nicaragua Tours and/or its agents act only in the capacity as an agent for the passenger in all matters connected with luggage, hotels, sightseeing tours and transportation, whether by bus, boat, or any other means, and is not liable for any damage due to negligence of any boat, bus, or hotel. Explore Nicaragua Tours is not liable for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late departures, change of schedule, strikes or other conditions. The tour schedules shown are subject to revisions, including the substitution of hotels. Explore Nicaragua tours is not liable for any wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized acts or omissions of any travel agent or travel agency. Legal proceedings by or against Explore Nicaragua Tours may be instituted only in a state or federal court within the State of Illinois, and any claim involved in such proceedings shall be decided in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois. Explore Nicaragua Tours reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time before or during the actual operation of the tour. In the case of computer or human billing error, Explore Nicaragua Tours reserves the right to correct invoice with correct billing information. Explore Nicaragua Tours Tours is not responsible for typographical or printing errors, or errors arising form unforeseen circumstances.

Tips: All tips to restaurant waiters, hotel bellmen, and airport representative are included. Tips to tour director, local guides, and bus driver are not included.

Rooms: Explore Nicaragua Tours hotel rooms all have a private bath, shower, and air conditioning. A limited number of single rooms are available. Triple rooms are usually two beds, and a rollaway is usually not available. Changes in type of room due to cancellation by a roommate (a double changed to a single) will result in a single room supplement charged to the remaining passenger.

Luggage: Due to space limitations in the bus luggage compartment, only one medium size suitcase of up to 26 inches in length may be brought on the bus per person. One small purse, carry-on bag, or camera bag may also be personally carried. Explore Nicaragua Tours is not responsible for loss or damage to your personal belongings.
